"Was Fred’s death accidental?": Science between theism and naturalism

The article reveals the main provisions of discussion on relationship between modern science and theism two famous American philosophers – naturalist Daniel Dennett “analytic theist” Alvin Plantinga. debate took place in 2009 as part session Central Division Philosophical Association was published 2011 under title “ Science Religion: Are They Compatible?” positions analyzed are reproduced connection with example proposed by Dennett. tells about an investigation into causes sudden death art critic Fred, which symbolizes process evolution. believes that cause is natural, theistic interpretation offers excessive irrational explanation, arguing God leader evolutionary (in example, analogue artist Tom, who has supernatural abilities).
